About me

Hello!

I'm Kate, a jewellery designer/maker living in the Northern Lake District. I live with my husband, two children, three dogs and three cats.

Originally a midwife, my hands have been my work tools my entire career! Following a change in direction, I started making jewellery (and falling utterly in love with silversmithing) around three years ago. I work from my home studio near Bassenthwaite Lake.

At the core of Summit Silver, is my mission to both showcase and protect the beautiful Lake District. I use a selection of carefully curated Lake District materials which are all collected by me on foot and then use these to forge handmade jewellery you can wear and love.

I am inspired by my surroundings every day and love to experiment with different techniques and materials, just for the love of the process.

Along with Summit Silver's Core Collection and more traditional jewellery featuring precious metals and gemstones, I also provide a commission service and get such buzz from making bespoke, meaningful pieces for my customers and their loved ones.
